Archylte Steppe

The Archylte Steppe, aside from its brief Story Visit, is home to a wide array of fragment quests, monster recruiting and farming opportunities.

The first key to unlocking the Steppe's secrets is mastering the locations weather controls. The control is in the upper level of the nomad camp. The combinations are as follows: Up Up - Cloudy, Down Up - Stormy, Up Down - Rainy, Down Down - Sunny. These various weather conditions influence which monsters are available in given areas. For more info on that check out the Monsters Section.

This area also has two unique ways to reach all the areas of the map - Cactuar Waystones & Chocobos. In order to unlock Chocobos on the map you must activate all waystones and then speak to the Hunter outside the chocobo pen in the camp. Cactuar Waystones relinquish a fragment upon first activation.

Cactuar Waystones

  1. Plains of Eternity (All Weather) - Teleports to the Nomad Camp
  2. Grave Ridge (All Weather) - Reveal it with a Moogle Hunt. Teleports to the Nomad Camp.
  3. Grave Ridge (Cloudy Weather) - Reveal it with a Moogle Hunt. Teleports to the Clearwater Marshes. Once unlocked it is available in all weather conditions.
  4. Clearwater Marshes (All Weather) - Reveal it with a Moogle Hunt. Teleports to the Nomad Camp.
  5. Clearwater Marshes (Sunny Weather) - Reveal it with a Moogle Hunt. Teleports to the Nomad Camp. Once unlocked it is available in all weather conditions.
