Snow

The fight with Snow may seem very difficult at first. He will beat down one target relentlessly until he powers up. Once you understand the trick to him he is not so bad. The following strategy is not meant for five star rating, but for beating him. Once you understand the basics and have built up your characters focussing on power and strength, the fight can be streamlined down. It is possible to collect his monster crystal with a no star ranking. Be sure to use the monster's Feral Link abilities to increase the odds.

For this fight we are going to recommend a Commando, Sentinel, and Saboteur. The Commando should do over 1000 damage and none of the monster's HP should be below 5,000. The Sentinel should have provoke or challenge and the higher its HP the better. Giving it passives that boost physical resistance wouldn't hurt. The Saboteur should have the Dispel ability, Deshell, Deprotect, and Imperil. Serah can fill this role in which case a Ravager could be used for the monster. Be sure to bring several Wound potions to this fight. A variety of equipment/accessories may be used for this fight but generally you are looking for either speed, health, physical resistance, chain boosts/bonuses and/or strength.

PARADIGM NOEL SERAH MONSTER
Cerberus COM COM COM
Smart Bomb RAV RAV SAB
Mystic Tower RAV RAV SEN
Premeditation SYN SAB SEN
Matador SEN RAV SAB
Combat Clinic MED MED SEN
  • Begin the fight in Premeditation. Manually have Noel cast Protect+Vigilance as a pair on himself, then quick cast it on Serah and your monster. Snow deals heavy damage constantly so protect will help, and periodically he will give wound damage. If you keep these two buffs up you shouldn't ever need a Wound potion and you can last longer between healing.
  • Watch your HP throughout the fight. When you need to heal either use a potion or switch to Combat Clinic
  • Snow goes through a series of stages as he pummels one of your characters. A notification of "Here We Go" will pop up along with a stream of buffs right before he switches to a higher damage state. He will raise to 200% and then 300% and if you're still kicking, Max Power followed by Sovereign Fist which will wipe out your entire party. Until he reaches the 200% tier, he is immune to Provoke/Challenge.
  • Right after "Here We Go" switch to any of the paradigms including a Saboteur. It will need to dispel all of his buffs.
  • When Snow reaches 200% either switch to Matador if he has been beating your monster. If he has been hitting Noel you have your choice of Combat Clinic, Premeditation, or Mystic Tower depending upon your needs. A successful Provoke will result in Snow saying "Time to Chill"
  • While this cycle is going on, you will be trying to Stagger Snow. When HP allows, spend as much time in Smart Bomb as possible.
  • Once he is staggered, switch to Cerberus and keep Snow airborn. If you had been keeping to the Saboteur paradigms he should be dibilitated by status ailments. If he lands he may buff himself, so do the best you can to keep him up.

Snow Recruitment

With the aquisition of Snow's crystal, he is a raisable Sentinel. He is a quick feed as he only reaches level 13.
